Outdoor pole lighting
What was once used only for town and city public street lights has become popular for individual use on a smaller scale. Outdoor pole lighting has now made its way into home use for a variety of reasons.
Outdoor pole lighting is commonly used at the entrance of driveways to provide the same illumination that street lights do for roads. Homeowners can now choose from hundreds of outdoor pole lights of different styles and heights to use. Some people choose to use two outdoor pole lights, one for each side of the driveway for an added look of symmetry.
Outdoor pole lighting is also used to illuminate landscaping that is in the yard away from the house. It looks especially nice if you choose outdoor pole lighting that blends in nicely with and compliments the height of the surrounding plants. Many of the post styles come with a bar on the side that can be used for decorative yard purposes during the daytime, such as hanging a bird feeder or a flag. Unlike driveway lighting, when placing outdoor pole lights in a landscape, it looks best to use only one and to have it placed to one side rather than putting it in the middle for symmetry.
A door entrance to a home is another place for outdoor pole lighting. If there is not a place to install a wall mount light, this is best way to add light to the entrance. With outdoor pole lights, it is possible to put a fixture anywhere you choose, even if there is no space on the wall for it.
There are a wide variety of styles, shapes, and sizes available in outdoor pole lighting. Many different finishes and materials are available as well, including wrought iron, powder coated steel, and wood. So no matter what style of outdoor décor you have, from modern to contemporary to traditional to rustic, there is sure to be outdoor pole lighting that will fit right in with it.
